The Eastside Vision is a master-plan for a future sports complex on the eastside of San Antonio, which will most likely be prompted by an NFL or national sports team moving to San Antonio. HollyHills Development Chairman of the Board, Daniel Bailey, and Vice Chairman, Marlene Bailey, along with EDAW Principal Ken Ryan, unveiled plans for a major sports and entertainment district to the City of San Antonio in fall of 2005.
The press conference presented HollyHills’ vision to transform nearly 1,000 acres of Eastside San Antonio land into a Sports & Entertainment District featuring pro football, pro baseball, pro basketball, Indy/NASCAR Racing and a Rodeo Village.
A resort hotel, resort golf course, residential and vacation share complexes, along with commercial and retail developments were also included in the plans.
Incorporated in their plans, were over 4,000 existing homes currently residing in the area.
“Our vision is to bring to San Antonio’s historic Eastside a sports, entertainment and lifestyle environment that allows for expanded economic development, but not at the expense of the character of the community,” Chairman Bailey stated at the time.
